Why CASA Matters

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children in the foster care system. These children are navigating complex court proceedings and uncertain futures after experiencing abuse or neglect.

A CASA volunteer is often the one consistent adult in a child’s life—someone who stands beside them, speaks up for them, and works to ensure they are placed in a safe, loving, and permanent home.

Proven Impact in Our Community

In FY2025, Carroll County CASA:

• Served 161 children with a dedicated CASA volunteer

• Trained 39 new volunteers

• Maintained an average of 52 active CASA volunteers advocating for children in foster care

These numbers represent real children whose lives were changed because someone chose to stand up for them.
